Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe road: studies on the tarring of the road completed

The Achievement of a completed tarried road relay in the ability of hard work and influential powers, that notwithstanding, the Ministry of Public works has bent to see in its capability that the road be tarred as soon as the fund is available. Very soon, the road construction projects will kick-off and the neighbourhoods at Lebialem in the Southwest Region will rejoice over the humming of heavy-duty engines.

The studies on phase one of the Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe road is completed and funds will be raised from the international partners to tackle the road considering as an economic road, that will open up to easy movement of people and be a vital link between the Southwest and West Regions.

With fore-knowledge of the financial aspect of the tarring of the road Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe, the government is already aware of the exact cost of the project and is currently looking for the required funds for the execution of the first phase of the project.

The Ministry of Public Works is more determined for this road be constructed because it is persistently posing serious travel challenges to the population, the ministry is asking the people of that area to have high hopes with assurance that work will begin on the road and the Lebialem community both at home and in the diaspora should remain optimistic about the imminent tarring of the road.

The Director of the Department of Construction (DCP) of the Ministry of Public Works, in charge of technical monitoring, evaluation of road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance programmes, drafting of special technical and special administrative documents for invitation to tenders, Acha Valentine, revealed that the tarring of the Dschang-Fontem-Bakebe road will have huge economic potentials to the people in terms of evacuation and marking of their agricultural products. In a nutshell, the tarring of the road, will transform the lives of the population and help alleviate poverty, reduce youth migration, unemployment and guarantee business booming, to an-extend, it will improve the living standard of Cameroonians.
