An invoke visit: MINTP receive delegation of investors from Switzerland

Investors from Switzerland visit the Ministry of Public Works to express interest in construction and surveillance. It should be recalled that Switzerland had signed a bilateral relationship with Cameroon.
The Secretary of State in charge of roads, of the Ministry of Public Works Mr. Hans NYETAM NYETAM receive in his office investors from Switzerland responsible for construction and surveillance, such as; the General Surveillance Company GSC, represented by Roger K. Kamgaing and Mr. Flottes De Pouzols (Executive Vice President) and IOA Construction, represented by Mr. William Larrieu (Export Sales Manager). The meeting was also attended by the General Director of Technical Studies Mr. Daniel Guy ZOA ABOUNA, and other MINTP five (5) employees.
During the meeting session, the Secretary of State, in charge of roads gave the investors the opportunity to disclose their purpose of the visit. The Export Sales Manager brings out the objectives of the company which aim at building bridges of level crossing, and to prove services that will mitigate environmental issues. It also involves in the work of design, construction of tunnels, control and monitoring of infrastructures works breviaries such as the case of CAMRAIL and CNCF in Francs. In order for better understanding, they present an exhibition of metallic product (system) used by the company for a sustainable roads and bridges.
The vice president of General Surveillance Company which is also a partner of IOA company, dwelled on it part, to support infrastructure development in Cameroon through audit, control and supervision of the work during construction phase and maintenance. He cited on the relevance of the private sector involvement in different government infrastructure. In this regard, he said, “the reason for them to invest in Cameroon is as a result of; Cameroon being an emerging country, less trouble spot and open to international relationships”.
The Secretary of State in charge of roads approved the openness and willingness of the investors for striving for better infrastructure in the world, especially the cooperation Cameroon has with Franc and Switzerland. He subsequently presents all the projects Cameroon if offering for investment, such as, road, rails, ports, airports and energy. in addition, he estimated the road network to be tarried as 5.500km to 120.000km, and there is an extension of the rail network estimated at 1.000km to 2.500km in the future according to the National Railway Master Plan.
On the other hand, the General Director of Technical Studies bring out the different pattern in the implementation of public procurement of competitive bidding partnership, it is therefore essentially for investors to demonstrate their reliability and their access to technical and financial capability.
Moreover, the head of General Surveillance Company GSC, asked about the possibility of privatizing the management of road weighing stations. In response, the Secretary of State informed him that, the electronic shutter is already happening in concession. However, he said, the Ministry of Public Works is open to any suggestions that might be made in this direction.
Lastly, he said Cameroon and MINTP offer open doors to any investors in charge for the construction of road, railways, ports, public and private buildings. By cons they can get in touch with other jurisdictions, such as: MINHDU, Yaounde Urban Council and Douala communities for the development of bridges, to solve the thorny problem of plugs in major cities.
