New officials at the Ministry of Public Works

Posté le : déc. 20, 2013, Par : mesp23 - Dans : en-Actualités

Four senior officials of the Ministry of Public Works were promoted by a Presidential decree of Thursday 28 November 2013.

They include two Director Generals and two Inspector Generals, closest collaborators of the Minister for Public Works.

Their mission is to implement the new organization chart of
MINTP which since 13 September 2013 is responsible for the construction and
maintenance of road, motorway, seaport, airport, railway, energy and
environmental infrastructures of the country.

These pioneers are :

- Mr. Tchoumi Jean Lambert, Director General of Infrastructure Works ;

- Mr. Abouna Zoa Guy, Director General of Technical Studies ;

- Mr. Ekwa Dipanda Charles Bertrand, Inspector General
in charge of Services ;

- Mr. Efoua Fono René, Inspector General in charge of Technical issues.

If three of them are of the Ministry, Mr. Abouna Zoa Guy is from the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development where he occupied the post of Director of Infrastructures and Support to Local and
Regional Development. Being a Civil Engineer, one can say that he is of the building sector even if he is not or was not of the ministry of Public Works.
From an indiscrete source, we gathered that he is the one who conducted the feasibility studies of the 2nd Wouri bridge and of the Yaounde-Douala motorway.

Out of the three others, only Mr. Ekwa Dipanda Charles conserves his post. A graduate of ENAM, Treasury Inspector, he was appointed at MINTP in 2006 as Inspector No2 in charge of Services after working at the
Treasury Department and as Inspector Verificator at the Bafoussam General Treasury.

The other two have been promoted : prior to his appointment, Mr. Tchoumi Jean Lambert, Engineer of the Ecole Polytechnique, was Director of Rural Roads. It is said that he is so intelligent and brilliant
that he has always been the first of his batch.

Mr. Efoua Fono René, Civil Engineer, was the Littoral Regional Delegate of Public Works in Douala. He was the key man of preparations for the ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the Wouri
second bridge. He illustrated himself with the construction of one of the scale models of the said bridge with young Cameroonian engineers using recovery
equipment.
