Posté le : déc. 20, 2013, Par : mesp23 - Dans : en-Actualités
It was adopted on Monday 2 December 2013 at 4.20 a.m by the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly. The session started at 2 a.m and went on for 2 and a half hours during which there was a high level, straight, friendly and direct discussion that was equally strategic and inward-looking.
Members of the Finance and Budget Committee shelved personal quarrels and concentrated on the general interest. The Minister for Public Works, Patrice Amba Salla proved that he was up to the task by laying more emphasis on
difficulties rather than successes. This led the honourable members of the committee to congratulate and encourage him to keep the pace of straight talk and permanent reflection to make Cameroon an emergent country in 2035 as advocated by the President of the Republic H.E Paul Biya.
In her introductory note, the Chair of the Finance and Budget Committee recalled that the issue of roads and engineering structures constitutes a major concern of the population, their elected representatives
and the President of the Republic. She pointed out that roads are at the centre of development and she was satisfied with the strategy for the paving of integrating roads which will enable the opening up not only of production areas, but also of border areas with neighbouring countries.
The Chair was however worried with the situation of MATGENIE which lacks equipment; the degradation of main principal roads, the poor functioning of rain gates and the endemic corruption practiced at weighing
stations and tollgates.
After the general discussion that was followed by a question and answer session. The budget was adopted without modification.
According to economic nature, it is shared as follows :
- 196.727 billion CFA F for investment ;
- 65.864 billion CFA F as recurrent budget.
In keeping with the 4 programmes of the sector strategy, there will be :
- 132.594 billion CFA F for the construction of infrastructures ;
- 96.811 billion CFA F for the maintenance of infrastructures ;
- 7.196 billion CFA F for the conduct of technical studies ;
- 25.989 billion CFA F for institutional strengthening.
