National road No.1: MINTP partially receives works on Nkolessong-Nding 89km and 6km bypass road at Nanga-Eboko-Bifogo

This afternoon, the Ministry of Public Works did a partial reception of the construction of bypass road such as installation of solid road signs, reinforcement of road lines and the reinforcement of two metallic bridges on the Nkolessong-Nding stretch of road, 89km and 6km linking road at Nanga-Eboko-Bifogo, along the Obala-Batchenga-Bouam stretch, on National road No.1.
The Minister's representative, Tchetchoua Chrétien Director of Roads Investment, accompanied by his close collaborators of the Ministry of Public Works, chaired the reception meeting in the presence of all the stakeholders concern.
This said project is the materialization of the investment efforts made by the State of Cameroon in the field of road infrastructure as the construction was funded by the Public Investment Budget of 2011.
The leftover works done by the China International Water and Electric corp is at 96%. The technical control carried on by BEC LA ROUTIERE SARL, stands at 94% and the geotechnical control done by LABOGENIE (National Reference Laboratory ) is 94%.
The asphalting of the Nkolessang-Nding road and the Nanga Eboko-Bifogo bypass (part of the 275 km Obala-Batchenga-Bouam road development project) was inaugurated by the Minister of Public Works last December 2021, he made certain remarks which were to be modified.
His instructions were to be accomplish to match the perfection of the road, it is on this backdrop that brought about today's reception of all that was to be put in place, notable, the road signs which are now well installed, good road carnival, the two reinforced metallic bridges and the construction of bypass roads at Nanga-Eboko-Bifogo, all these amendments roll on 100%.
In addition, supplementary works also included the construction of a school, construction of a hospital and the construction of a stadium. At the bypass road, almost 20 stone culverts were constructed to sustain the road.
This heavy investment worth its weight in gold as it will boost trade between the North, East, Centre, and Adamawa regions and the Far North region, with strong agricultural potential.
Also, this road infrastructure was constructed to improve the connection and travel between the Eastern and Central regions. In addition to boosting trade, this road will allow easy movement from departments of Lekié and Haute Sanaga in the Central region to Lom-et-Djerem in the Eastern region. it should be recall that, during the inauguration ceremony, the people were overjoyed by the promise of more complementary works including social amenities such as classrooms and water supply systems.
it wasn't all smooth sailing as the project encountered some hiccups, causing the delay which provoked the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, constructed that the balanced should not be paid until the construction company complete the work since they have used more than their time frame. What is remaining is the supplementary works.
