Overall, works under Lot 2, Ndu-Nkambe, of the Kumbo - Ndu - Nkambe - Misaje section of National Road No. 11, are moving on smoothly. The company has started producing aggregates, and to date an estimated 36,411 tonnes have been stockpiled at the crushing plant since operations began. The aggregate storage area is currently being expanded. Overall, 52% of the topographical surveys for the Ndu - Nkambe road have been completed, and 81% of works to clear the right of way have been carried out, including felling trees, clearing undergrowth, cleaning, stripping topsoil, reshaping, scarifying the existing road; relocation of graves is 81% executed. About 40% of earthworks have been executed, including 98,746.69 m3 of excavation and disposal of material, 17,479.85 m3 of rock excavation, 309,552.59 m3 of backfill from excavation and 4,000 m3 of borrowed backfill. In recent weeks progress has also been made as concerns pavement works, in particular the laying of the improved subgrade. The Company was recommended to take all necessary measures to avoid polluting the aggregates during storage and to reduce the lag between works progress and time fame consumption.
