Maintenance of rural roads to exceed expectation in SW

The launching of National Tender by the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, has paved way for companies to sign contracts for the execution of priority road maintenance works.

The priority road maintenance works linking Ikoti-Mokango-Mofako-Ikenge 6 Bera-Bkoko in the Ndian division of the Southwest region, was awarded to WILLEX TRAIDING and Construction Company Limited. The maintenance works was to cover a length of 20km and the progress of work is globally estimated at 100%, with a consumption rate of 98.01%. This project was financed by the Road Funds with an estimated amount of FCFA 177 732 014 million VAT.

Another contract for the maintenance works on the priority road Lot.16 linking Iribanyange-Kumba-Balue-Pondo-Bakumba-Dosoni, Kombone Mission-Boa-Bobewde, Kombone Mission-Pombele in Meme division of the Southwest region, was awarded to ATEMCO Company under a contract No. 045/M/MINTP/CMPM-ERPR/2015, to carry out a periodic road maintenance works covering a total stretch of 23km.  According to the terms of this contract an amount of FCFA 74,491,500 million (VAT), was estimated for the project sponsored by Road Funds. Meanwhile, the technical control was handed over to BEC LA ROUTIERE, as of now the physical advancement is 100% gone.

In the same line, according to the report gathered, the head of control mission revealed that, the periodic road maintenance works has attain its maximum satisfaction as far as this project is concern and the follow-up team gave it a positive remakes, in this vein the works is completed and temporarily handed over to the project owner.

Regarding an increasing nature of road maintenance linking farm-to-market roads, it is an indication that coating shoulders will be transformed paving ways for an increasing level for agriculture within the country.
